Sometimes you just need a Vacation

We have been going and going lately, so on Saturday we decided we needed a beach break.  My Tamagotchi Mom spent the week at the beach so at 5:30am we packed up the car and sent for a drive.  For the most part I we sat on the beach and just watched the waves but I did manage to snap a couple shots through out the day.

Boy do I miss the beach already!!!

Visiting Gram

My grandmother lives in southern Maryland in a retirement community.  When my parents owned their boat we used to go down and see her two or three times a month, but now that they have sold the boat we don't get down there as much.  Last weekend we decided to go for a visit and install her new weather system.  Her community is so pretty and it is right on the Patuxent River, it makes a great spot for pictures.

Kinderfarm Park

Before we started getting all of this sticky, hot weather the kids and I took a field trip to Kinderfarm Park.  There is two sides to the park the first one is the sports complex where kids play soccer, lacrosse, and football and the other side is the jungle gym, the pond, and the farm.  Around both sides is a trail that I ran a couple winters ago when I did the Valentine's Day 5k.  For todays trip I decided to park on the sports complex side and walk the trail a little while before getting to the jungle gym and farm.

We had so much fun and I found a lot of great places to take pictures in the future.  Even though we walked well over three miles (tracked with my fitbit, lol) when we got back to the house the kids were ready to go and swam in the pool the rest of the day.  I was beat!!

Happy 4th of July

This year for the 4th we went to my aunt's house in Virginia.  She lives on a small lake, nothing better then a weekend on the lake.

I have seen a couple of these posted on Pinterest and different blogs so I decided I had to try it.  I was so happy with the way they turned out!!! I can't wait to do them again for my cousin's wedding in September.

I took these pictures at dusk (right after the sun had set) there was still a little like in the sky so that you could see the background and the couple in the pictures.  As it got darker I bumped up the ISO to let in some more light.  My ISO started at about 250. I set my apperture to 5 and put my shutter speed on bulb.  I also had my camera on a tripod to help with the camera shake.

I told my sister and Mitchell to stand really still.  On "GO" Jamie ran around them with the sparkler and I clicked the shutter. When he was done I clicked the shutter again, it was about 6 seconds.

As you can see the more practice we got the better our pictures turned out.

My aunt's neighbor is also a licensed pyrotechnics so he does a great firework display.  Even though Ruben and Syd spent the night in the camper hiding, we enjoyed watching the fireworks from the dam.

Underwater Fun!!

Day at the Park

Yesterday we decided to take a "hike", so we visited Crofton Park. The kids had so much fun, we have decided to try and visit one park a week. I am thinking Kinder Farm Park next week.
